Frustrating, isn't it? You know that there's valuable information buried in the reports you get from some of your older equipment. There may even be limitations on what you can get from newer equipment. Add to that the growing number of lists you can subscribe to or order from who knows how many sources, all of which have lots of interesting or valuable info you just can't access without putting in a whole evolving set of programs to 'sift' it for you.

As a small business person, you don't have the kind of money that takes. Did you know that MS Excel can probably do it for you? You probably have Excel on your computer, either at the office or at home. We can create a spreadsheet that uses that massive amount of data. For most situations, you just save the data file in the right place with the right name, and the rest is automatic. If you have to make changes, we'll show YOU how, make sure you have step-by-step instructions that you understand and somewhere to call for help!

It still involves someone sitting down and thinking through the problem, just like programming does. It just doesn't take as long. This is because it is NOT as flexible, and won't work for every situation. The sample solution was a two hour job (which includes the testing and writing the documentation you need to handle updated information). The initial consultation would be an additional hour. The training would likely be an additional hour or two - when we set up the sheet for you and your first update if you want us there.

Yes, you can. If you're comfortable with Excel and you can think through how the data needs to be organized, you'll be able to do this yourself. We're happy to help you do that. Get one report with enough complexity to give you examples, and you can use that to create more.

We haven't looked yet, but other spreadsheet software (which we don't have) should have similar capabilities. We'll look at yours and tell you if we can do it.
